It is a participatory art installation for Aichi Triennale 2019 in collaborate with the Artist Katsuhiko Hibino.
In this space, called “Cardboard Park”, various countless play-objects made of cardboard were displayed, such as gigantic sliders, tunnels, towers, vehicles, robots, houses, furnitures and cosplay costumes. Those were made by not only the invited artists, but amateurs that are more than 6300 visitors and elementary school students in Aichi who have been focusing on the creative possibilities of cardboard. Visitors came up with his/her own idea of play-objects, and made them and leave them there. And next visitors came to play with them and and invent the other ways of play. It became a world of infinite play, made, transformed and expanded with countless ideas of visitors.
アート・プレイグラウンド あそぶ
~ 来場者が作り続ける巨大ダンボール公園 ~
あいちトリエンナーレ2019に、アーティストの日比野克彦さんと共に出展した、参加型のアート・インスタレーション作品。
通称「ダンボール公園」と呼ばれた会場には、ダンボールの巨大な滑り台やほら穴、塔をはじめ、無数の乗り物、ロボット、おうち、家具、なりきりグッズなどの遊具たちが、作られてゆきました。これらは、作家と共にダンボールの造形を研究してきた愛知県の小学生をはじめ、訪れた6300名余りの来場者たちが作ったものです。来場者は、それぞれのアイデアで様々な作品を作り、残し、そして、次に訪れた人は、またそこから新たな遊びを生み出します。来場者のアイデアで変形・拡張されてゆく、限りない遊びの世界が繰り広げられました。
