In this age of being required to solve the problems without any answers, a museum opened an unique kids’s space where children develop scientific curiosity and questions through playing. There are a big slope for rolling, a curved walls for drawing, a peg board for piling and connecting materials, and a monitor for moving scanned drawings. For making children concentrate on each activity, and related to the other play in the same time, we made each play area half- enclosed by a spacious wall in arc. Through experience in watching, feeling, thinking and challenging, children develop their sense of innovation in each round space, which looks as if he/she is held in mother’s arms.

おやっ?こひろば
~ こどもたちの「?」を育む ~
解答のない問題に答えを見つけねばならない時代。こどもたちが、科学的な疑問や好奇心を、遊びながら育める空間をデザインしました。 転がしたり転がったりできる坂、曲面に絵を描ける部屋、ものを積んでつなげてくっつけられる壁、描いた絵をスキャンして動かせるモニター。それぞれのアクティビティにこどもたちが集中しつつも、互いの遊びが連動するよう、大らかな円弧の壁でコーナーを仕切りました。まるでお母さんの両腕に包まれているようなまあるい空間の中で、こどもたちは見て、感じて、試して、考えて、創意工夫を育んでゆきます。
